Retailer TastesOfTheWorld.net is helping to bring Italian cafe
culture to American homes as the exclusive U.S. online supplier
of Marcafe Italian Espresso coffees. As real Italians begin to
move away from spending time in coffee bars, they have begun buying
their espresso from coffee machines, which are causing some to
say "arrivederci" to cafe culture.
Marcafe is based northeast of Rome, in Teramo, Italy. Italian Baristas, as coffee preparers are called, are slowly being replaced by a half million automatic coffee machines, serving coffee drinks at the rate of two million cups per year. Clearly, Italian espresso lovers in a country known for its espresso bars would not settle for inferior gourmet coffee from those machines. Marcafe Italian coffee is served both in fine restaurants by Baristas and from those new espresso machines taking the country by storm.
As the world moves faster and we have more to do with less time to do it, Italy is seeing the same increase in the pace of life. The country has over 130,000 establishments serving coffee nationwide, according to Italian National Institute for Espresso in Brescia, which monitors coffee standards. In order to have more time, Italians are foregoing the leisurely café served macchiato, doppio, or corretto, taken in casual sips, and switching to a quicker machine made versions in self-serve style in to-go cups.
Interestingly, American coffee shops mimic Italian espresso bars, by using Italian terms like Barista for coffee makers and even Grande and Venti for the size of coffees. If Americans begin to move away from visiting gourmet coffee shops as the Italians are doing, we could see an increase in mail-order espresso sales and see Americans begin enjoying coffee and espresso more at home. Americans will never take the self-serve vending machine route since self-serve machines are identified with horrible Robusta-bean-made instant coffee.
TastesofTheWorld.net sells Marcafe Italian gourmet espresso coffees in several varieties from whole-bean Perla Nera espresso to gourmet "espresso pods" for the only machine that Americans are moving toward using lately, single-serving coffee pod machines. Marcafe Crema Bar, from TastesoftheWorld.net recently received a score of 87 from coffee reviewer Ken Davids of CoffeeReview.com. http://www.tastesoftheworld.net/Marcafe-Crema-Bar-press.htm
